Navigating matters of the law for your family.

With experience in high-stakes litigation and a commitment to personalized legal solutions, we fight for the best possible outcome in every case. When you need a strong, knowledgeable attorney advocating for you, we are here to help.

Appeals

At our firm, we understand that an unfavorable court decision can feel overwhelming — but an appeal may offer a second chance at justice. We have extensive experience handling a wide range of appeals and are here to guide you through this complex process with skill and dedication.

  • We handle Family Law Appeals, including cases involving child custody, visitation rights, spousal support, and property division. If you believe a court’s decision was unfair or legally flawed, we can help you challenge it.

  • For those facing Adoption Appeals, we assist clients in cases involving parental consent issues or the denial of adoption petitions. These matters are deeply personal, and we work diligently to protect your rights and the best interests of the child.

Estate Planning

Estate planning isn’t just about distributing assets — it’s about protecting your family, ensuring your wishes are honored, and planning for life’s uncertainties. As your family grows and circumstances change, having a well-structured plan in place provides peace of mind for you and your loved ones. At Kristen Komander Law, we guide individuals and families through every step of the estate planning process with care and expertise.
  • Drafting Wills: Clearly outline how your assets should be distributed and designate an executor to carry out your wishes.

  • Creating Trusts: Protect and manage your assets through tailored trust solutions, including revocable, irrevocable, and charitable trusts.

  • Designating Beneficiaries: Ensure your retirement accounts, life insurance policies, and investments go directly to the right people, avoiding probate delays.

  • Planning for Incapacity: Establish powers of attorney and advance directives so trusted individuals can make financial and medical decisions on your behalf if needed.

  • Reviewing & Updating Plans: Life changes — so should your estate plan. We help keep your documents current to reflect your evolving needs.

Estate planning is a powerful way to protect what you’ve worked hard for and ensure your family’s future is secure. Let’s create a plan that gives you confidence and clarity for years to come.

Attorney Ad Litem

In family law cases, especially those involving children, the role of an Attorney Ad Litem is to represent and protect the best interests of the child. As a certified Attorney Ad Litem, my responsibility is to ensure that the child's voice is heard in court, even if it differs from what the parents or others involved may want.

Whether it’s in a custody dispute, a divorce, or a dependency-neglect case, my role is to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child’s well-being, speak with the child (when appropriate), and advocate for what’s truly in their best interest. This includes making recommendations to the court about custody arrangements, visitation, and any other factors that could impact the child’s safety and stability.
